Hey Dr. Moberly I created this blog for my sample syllabus. How thorough of a grader are you?
Several of my professors use blogs like this one to post their assignments and syllabi instead of Blackboard. I like it better because you don't have to sign in each time you want to access the class information. In addition to a paper copy this blog would help students keep track of their assignments. Also, it's easy to edit and upload interesting links.
